1. Stagnant Talent Dilemma

The Great Resignation has transitioned into the Great Talent Stagnation, where employers struggle to find qualified applicants while workers feel undervalued and stagnant. 2. No Retirement for Atlas

Boston Dynamics just unveiled an electric version of the Atlas humanoid robot a day after retiring the original hydraulic model. The new Atlas features smoother, more fluid movements, a redesigned appearance with a round display head, and improved functionality. CEO Robert Playter discusses plans for commercialization, emphasizing the robot's versatility and ability to perform tasks beyond simple box manipulation, such as interacting with heavy objects like car struts.

3. New Tech for an Old-People Game

Oh, calm down! I didn’t mean it. If you can take a mulligan, you can take a joke! Pro golfer Bryson DeChambeau recently used 3D printed Avoda Golf irons at the Masters. Avoda owner Tom Bailey’s journey from customizing clubs to founding the company led to this breakthrough. The 3D printing process brought precision and allowed for the incorporation of DeChambeau's unique requests, like curvature. Despite facing challenges and last-minute adjustments, DeChambeau trusted the prototype, showcasing his bold approach.

4. ABB Found Red October

Inspired by the motion of a whale's tail, ABB’s Dynafin cycloidal marine propeller system promises up to 85% efficiency and precise maneuvering. It includes independently controllable blades for thrust and steering, potentially offering fuel savings, operational benefits, and reduced emissions to align with the International Maritime Organization’s emissions targets. Initial tests are promising, with plans for full prototypes and integration into various vessels. ABB has made no claims to its stealth capabilities.

5. Data Irrigation

Liquid cooling systems in data centers mainly rely on water, which is straining water resources and posing threats to the environment and data security. Data centers' increasing demand for water exacerbates existing shortages, compounded by cybersecurity risks targeting water infrastructure. The solution requires sustainable practices like using alternative water sources and enhancing cybersecurity measures to ensure data integrity and water resource protection.
